Currently, Leasafric is run by the following Management Team in conjunction with Board appointed committee:
ALEXANDER O. MBAKOGU (Acting General Manager)
Alex Mbakogu is a qualified Accountant and a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigerian (ICAN) and the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants of Nigeria (ICMA). He has an MBA (Finance) from the University of Lagos. He holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Alexander has worked with C & I Leasing since 1998 in various capacities in its Finance Department, his last position being Manager, Finance and Accounts, with oversight responsibility for Treasury & Funds Management since 2005. He has considerable experience in leasing.
Alexander has been seconded to Leasafric.
PEARL MINGLE (Head of Finance and Administration)
Mrs. Pearl Mingle is a qualified Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. She worked with KPMG for 7 years. She later worked as Head of Internal Audit at both Donewell Insurance Company Limited and PZ Cussons Ghana Limited. She was later appointed as Chief Accountant of PZ Cussons Ghana Limited before joining Leasafric.
Leasafric has three main functional departments, a Finance & Administration Department, an Operations Department and a Business Development Department. The Finance Department is responsible for Accounting, Treasury management, Taxation, Information Technology, regulatory compliance and HR. The Operations Department is responsible for generating and structuring leases as well as new product development. The department's activities involve marketing and credit analysis. A third unit is responsible for lease administration, which involves documentation, recoveries of non-performing leases and repossession and disposal of leased assets from non-performing lessees.
The activities of these departments are directed and coordinated by the Acting General Manager and the Head of Finance and Administration who are accountable to the Board.
The three functional departments are manned by qualified, well trained, competent and well motivated staff, with long experiences in leasing and finance, who possess a good understanding of the Ghanaian leasing industry, in particular, and the finance industry in general. They have participated in several credit and lease administration training programs.
